Margaret Whelan, Orange Leaf Australia Franchisee, has been involved in the world of franchising for over 17 years. After owning and operating many other businesses, Whelan decided it was time to find a new opportunity.
“One of our businesses was located across the road from Orange Leaf, so we quickly became to know and love it,” said Whelan.
During her regular visits, Whelan became friends with the store owner. She then began to look at Orange Leaf as a potential venture. After exploring other frozen yogurt franchises, she decided that Orange Leaf had the best product.
“The atmosphere in the stores was always happy, vibrant and engaging. We also believed that the people representing Orange Leaf held similar beliefs and values, which was important to us,” said Whelan.
Whelan believes that there is a personal element to Orange Leaf that she finds is integral to any franchise partnership.
“The store carries a happy atmosphere and brings joy to people. Being able to say this about any workplace is unusual, but when it is your own personal venture, that makes it all the more worthwhile,” said Whelan.
“Our small franchise group in Australia is in regular communication, and we are learning more from each other,” said Whelan. “We are confident that we have the best frozen yogurt product, and the best team so that we will continue to be successful,” said Whelan.
Whelan’s favorite part of owning an Orange Leaf store is watching her customers faces light up.
“It makes you feel so good to see them enjoying themselves so much,” said Whelan.
